Family Council Directory
The Council Directory brings together family-led groups from long-term care homes across Ontario. Whether you’re part of a Council already or are looking to start one, this directory is a place to discover peers, swap ideas, and collaborate for better experiences in long-term care.
Why Use the Directory?
Family Councils thrive when they don’t act alone. By connecting with other Councils you can:
-
Explore what Councils in other homes are doing like programs, challenges, and successes;
-
Share ideas and learn. Find new ways to engage families, run meetings, and advocate;
-
Build networks and collective voices because strength in numbers helps amplify change;
-
Find support and encouragement as you navigate the long-term care journey
Use the search and filter tools below to find Councils in your region, see what they’re working on, and reach out to connect.
How It Works
-
Search or filter by region: Sort by LHIN or location to find nearby Councils.
-
Select listing type: View Family Councils, Council Clusters, or networks.
-
View details: Click on “More Info” to see a Council’s submitted activities, contact info (if shared), and home details.
-
Reach out: If a Council has chosen to share contact info, you’re invited to connect and collaborate.
-
Add or update your listing: Your Council can join or update the directory at any time — the more Councils listed, the stronger the network becomes.
This directory reflects only those Councils who elected to list themselves publicly.
The list is not exhaustive, but it keeps growing.
